Family Law Centre

Are you experiencing family violence? You may be eligible for free legal help from the Family Law Centre.

If you are a survivor of family violence and can’t afford legal representation, you may be eligible for a free lawyer and advocate. Call now to find out if you are eligible for the Family Law Centre.

How the Family Law Centre works

The lawyer can:

  • provide you with full legal representation to resolve your family law issues; and
  • help you with other overlapping legal and non-legal issues.

The advocate can:

  • be your main point of contact,
  • answer questions, and provide information;
  • go with you to meetings and appointments; and
  • connect you with other services such as counselling, Indigenous cultural supports, parenting support programs, settlement services, and victim services.

What is the Family Law Centre?

The Family Law Centre is a Legal Aid BC program. This service is free and helps to address legal and non-legal issues for survivors of family violence.

How can the Family Law Centre help you?

We will provide legal representation and support throughout your family law case. You’ll work with a lawyer and an advocate to help you stabilize your legal and non‑legal issues.

Are you eligible for this kind of help?

Anyone wishing to access the FLC program is encouraged to contact LABC directly. Intake staff are available to help assess legal issues and determine whether an individual is eligible for the FLC program or other LABC services.
